Head Over Heels

Cornerstone – Austria’s finest melodic rock export. Whilst mainland Europe is known for Power Metal and the like, this Austrian band formed a reputation for quality melodic rock. Female fronted, Head Over Heels is a find blend of catchy melodic songs, think Toto meets Heart, think AOR! The foursome created their unmistakable sound, a conglomerate of Anja Schirmer’s passionate singing, Stefan Wachelhofer’s dynamic rock-guitar, Michael Wachelhofer’s melodic bass, as well as Hannah Wachter’s powerhouse and subtle was playing drums. Live, Cornerstone presents their pure and authentic music, walking the line between dreamy ballads and powerful, impulsive rockers with a dense blend of guitars and drums.

Meanwhile the band has been working the live scene convincingly and their UK tour last October gained them many new fans with above average performances. The highlight of 2008 was the signing of a Record-Deal with the American label ATOM Records. This company has signed some well-known artists, including; Jon Butcher, Barefoot Servants, etc. The band has already played on several radio stations in the U.S.A., in Austria Cornerstone received airplay and a No. 1 on Radio7. and were play-listed by ARfm in the UK. This might be a quantum leap for the band’s career and is motivating them for more. For 2009 a tour through United Kingdom and Austria is already planned plus a support for John Waite on May 30th.
