A Tiny Twofer

Following the critical acclaim for their "Filmlets" album earlier this year, mind-bending instrumentalists LITE return with three brand new songs. Combining jaw-dropping precision with a real sense of emotion and power, LITE are sure to cement their reputation as one of the best new bands from Japan with this release.

The band will play Fuji Rock Festival in July and head to the UK & Ireland for a string of dates in September. Funanori is Kaori505 Tsuchida and Mike Watt. This collaboration is based around the sanshin, a traditional Okinawan three-stringed instrument, often likened to a banjo. Its haunting tone pervades the three tracks on Funanori's debut release where funk rhythms and Beefheart-esque complexity collide. Featuring guest appearances from drummer Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction and Porno For Pyros and saxophonist Chris Watling of The Grandsons. Digipack, cover artwork by Raymond Pettibon.
