It is released to coincide with the public smoking ban in England, the visual theme is that of the good, old-fashioned pub - beermats, ashtrays, and even a real filter-tip in the CD tray- but musically it's the reliable Curate's Egg that Sartorial prides itself on.
If you've not yet rediscovered Gallon Drunk on Sartorial (**** Uncut, 8/10 Rocksound, **** Record Collector ) then there is a track from each of the recently reissued CDs here, alongside tasters of albums by Robyn Hitchcock, The Higsons (fronted by The Fast Show's Charlie Higson), Lydia Lunch, Terry Edwards- in various guises featuring members of Madness & Serious Drinking- plus the chilled out grooves of Nitwood, Lob, Treecreepers and Ralph Littlejohn with Michael Cunningham. The Dada inspired title and packaging will arouse your curiosity, but don't bother breaking into the CD when you run out of fags at 3 in the morning- there's no tobacco in the cigarette, thus making it perfect for these non-nicotine times...
