Oblong's 'indicator' is the latest recorded collaborative project from expanding co-owner ben edwards aka benge and sees him take on a more live instrument based ensemble approach than his previous mostly electronic projects.

Conceived and created over two years from weekend recording sessions at a secluded farmhouse in somerset where the three members and long--time friends (all had played in bands together as teenagers) had the use of a steinway grand and various acoustic instruments. the result of these sessions were brought back to ben's studio in london where they were edited and manipulated and extra parts were added to the whole. the resulting album takes you on a journey through an intricately layered mix of acoustic, analogue and digital instruments which reflect both the rural and urban settings of it's construction. oblong will be touring as a live band in 2007. they are ben edwards (drums, drum machines, computers, synthesisers), dave nice (double bass, steel string guitar, field recordings), and sid stronach (acoustic guitars, piano, fender rhodes), with additional cello and harp from amy langly and sefa steer.
