Merzbow is the most prolific creator of experimental music alive. His enormous discography is only rivalled in size by that of Sun Ra and Muslimgauze.
This makes understanding his body of work very difficult and intimidating to approach. Cargo have been distributor for over a 100 Merzbow releases (for this we are not apologising) "Metamorphism" is a powerfully emotional, violently painful, and strangely ambient workungodly deep and loud pulses, around which is wrapped all sorts of whistling and buzzing..there are also abstract guitar strumming throughout chaotic sheets of static and ear-splitting metallic scrapes overwhelming the carefully constructed rhythm. Probably the finest looking Merzbow release of all time, initially the first 500 copies of "Metamorphism" were housed in a heavy duty marble box with a fossilised Ammonite engraved onto the front, the cd is housed in a screenprinted Hessian bag This is the Reissue in slimline jewel case.
