Walking Off The Map
REISSUE OF HIS DEBUT ALBUM.
This is Pete’s debut album ‘Walking Off The Map’, originally released in 2006 and recorded live on half track in Billy Childish’s kitchen - which is how Julie, Billy’s wife & member of the M.B.E’s too, Julie, came to sing on ‘Alone And Forsaken’ and duets with Pete on his tune ‘We Belong Together’. Wolf Howard and Jim Riley sat in on percussion and blues harp, respectively Largely ignored when first released, people are now discovering this lost classic due to the critical acclaim that has been awarded to his second album ‘A Virtual Landslide’ and his recent mini album ‘Today Tomorrow And Forever’.
Current live favourites ‘Indescribably Blue’ & ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ are featured on this album along with Radio 2 favourite ‘I Just Keep It Inside’ ‘Walking Off The Map' is one of those rare warm and intimate records where you feel the singer is there performing in front of you. The same kind of warmth and intimacy you get listening to Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Leadbelly, Bob Dylan, and Nick Drake.
