Haunted Water

Brash rock heavily rooted in blues, 60's psychedelia, blended together with the edginess of some of the best 70's and 80's punk rock standards.

Lion Fever creates music that is exactly what is needed in the current climate!Brash rock heavily rooted in blues, 60's psychedelia, blended together with the edginess of some of the best 70's and 80's punk rock standards. While the tracks are predominently dark and moody in tone, its quite evident that some solid songwriting and execution is at play here. The album's tracks are dark and heavy, and sees each member exploring versatile effects of instrumentation from throbbing basslines to crunchy intricate guitar riffs. One of the most striking things about the album, however, is the sheer intensity that is conveyed by vocalist Jennifer Pearl. Her expressive vocals soar and she can often be heard pushing the limits of her range. She's compelling in her delivery and is reminiscent of Patti Smith at her most impassioned moments. "House of Need" begins as a sultry down-tempo, driving piano ballad, with subtle-barely-there yet perfectly timed drumbeats. The gritty guitar work heard in the solely instrumental track, "I've Come to Notice an Error" further prove the impact that legendary artists such as Jimi Hendrix played in establishing a strong musical foundation for the members of Lion Fever. Haunted Water is a ferocious beast and impressive debut that will leave Lion Fever running throughout the hearts and minds of music fans eager for an alternative to the mainstream. Easy (lazy) comparisons would be Gun Club, Bad Seeds, Von Bondies (1st album) Starlite Desperation (feats ex members of), early PJ Harvey, the Stooges, Chocolate Watch Band / Music Machineand more.
