Formed in 1990 in the haight-ashbury district of San Francisco, the Brian Jonestown Massacre is very much an amalgamation of that city’s past and present musical forces. This is their 10th studio album, their first for tee pee, and fines bandleader Anton Newcombe setting out the claim as one of the best underground American songwriter, guitarist, singer and producer. Definitely one of the originators of the sound now popularised by the likes of black rebel motorcycle club (Peter of BRMC was once a member of BJM), the Dandy Warhols, and the Warlocks (indeed, many of the Warlocks are ex-BJM). With a stunning array of guests, with vocals from Ed Harcourt, Kurt of the Lilys, the Lovetones, matt tow, Darren from the Tyde and a full symphonic orchestra.
