A legendary figure in underground writing, painting and music, Billy Childish has released upwards of 80 independent LP's over the last 20 years. Spanning from punk rock to spoken word, Childish has never hidden behind cleverness or technique and has therefore always managed to expose his neurosis and soul. Many people are now familiar with that most famous of combo's, Thee Headcoats, but everyday we receive mail from Billy's myriad of fans demanding to hear the "other voice" of Childish. It is with these people specifically in mind that we have put together this collection of rare blues recordings. "All I'm interested in is the elemental", Childish explains, "we are all human beings and we all have the same human needs and desires. Most people wish to bury these needs and desires or allow them to be only feebly expressed by the mouthpiece of the pathetic and clever professional. I don't want to be a professional and I don't need to be clever. Conceptualism is stillborn, nihilism was a dead concept 150 years ago ! To write important songs, to paint important pictures, to write important words, you've got to be unafraid of being unimportant. You've got to have the guts to look for god and fail and then look again. In truth music that moves you is never clever !"
