Belgian Pop & Wave Songs From The 1980's

Excellent vinyl-only reissue of minimal synth and pop tracks favorites from the collection of Antwerp DJ Koen van Immerseel, with production support from Rush Hour’s expert audio archivists. Belgium Wave King Alain Neffe and bandmate Daniel Malempré, collectively known as Subject, open the compilation with the upbeat 'I See You' (1982).

Alain Neffe's production skills are on display again on two Bene Gesserit classics from 1982, the cold but funk laden 'American Orphan Girl' and the insane (aptly) 'Kull Wahad!!!'. Vitor Hublot contributes the French-sung synth pop of 'Aller Simple' (1983), and the wiry 'Histoire De P'Tite Annick' (1983), Kaa Antilope features on the melancholy synth-pop of 'Island Girl Games' (1988) and the forlorn 'Rise Up Helicopter: Like A Bird' (1988).

The collection closes with the slo-mo-synth-chuggger ‘Cardiocleptomanie’ (1983)  from Eurovision act, Pas De Deux! A very tidy set of some of the finest underground Belgian artists of that era.
