The Curse of The Higsons
Repackaged version of the vinyl releases which first appeared in 1984.
Chock-full of indie singles "Push out the boat", "Music to watch girls
by" and the long version of Two-Tone classic "Run me down". The
maxi-single has the electro version of "Music to watch BOYS by" and "I
don't want to live with monkeys" recorded live at London's Lyceum Ballroom.
The band was fronted by Switch - now known as Charlie Higson, star of
The Fast Show, and author of 5 novels to date - and was
multi-instrumentalist Terry Edwards' first band. John Peel was an early,
stalwart supporter of The Higsons, booking them for 5 sessions, the
first of which was the most repeated debut session ever on his programme
('til The Smiths came along...)
