Rick Wilhite Presents Vibes New & Rare Music
Rick Wilhite and his Vibes New & Rare Music record store have been a main source in Detroit for over 17 years. His store is the place to go for many Detroiters looking for new soulful, electronic music.
And as a DJ and promoter Rick has been holding it down for years. Next to that he mostly known for his affiliation with Three Chairs (together with Kenny Dixon Jr & Theo Parrish) and for his solo recordings, as The Godson. Now its time for Rick to get his peers and friends in the mix for his first compilation., which features only the best of Chicago and Detroit house-wise electronic music.
All 11 tracks are new and exclusive, from both the usual suspects as well as some new cats, delivering their best work, selected and curated by Rick Wilhite. Besides household names like Theo Parrish, Glenn Underground, Marcellus Pittman and The Godson himself, new names like Ricardo Miranda, Derwyn Hall and Marc King (more or less) debut on this release.
Man of the moment Kyle Hall is also featured with two tracks he did when he was only 15 and there is also a tune from Vincent Halliburton, known for his release on Ferris Park. The added-value bonus has to be the very special Urban Tribe line up of Carl Craig, Kenny Dixon, Anthony Shake Shakir and original Tribester Sherard Ingram, who come together to create ‘First Mistake’ specially for this project.
