Big Bertha
Big Bertha's philosophy is simple: the releases have to fit into my existing record collection, somewhere between Chelsea Girl by Nico, Bringing It All Back Home by Bob Dylan, Maggot Brain by Funkadelic and I Never Loved Her by The Starfires (an obscure but great garage-punk single from 1965). Who can possibly live up to this immense pressure?
That's easy: good musicians with good taste, who make music because they love it. Big Bertha now has Chatham's folk-blues young Turk Pete Molinari, Sun Studios rockabilly legend turned medieval troubadour Teddy Paige, Cornish acid-folk four-piece Thistletown and (with any luck) Funkadelic-Krautrock-disco-doom metal fantasists Chrome Hoof.
