Adamo and De Vine first met in the suburbs of Leeds and within a few months, they had recorded their first demo tape using a drum machine named Laura. A live drummer joined the band giving them a vital & urgent sound also known as SELF-HEALING ROCK

It could be said that Dolium sound like a unique blend of The Birthday Party, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Joy Division, Big Black and The Velvet Underground.

Ultimately, the band is a vehicle for the dangerously urgent outpourings of singer/songwriter/guitarist Reece Adamo and his dominatrix counterpart Mistress De Vine who plays her gloriously crafted basslines, often while singing and/or screaming above the ferociously distinctive drum beats...

The bands initial assault on the UK underground happened in and around the city of Sheffield. A large and loyal fan base quickly amassed there and the band received great press as several hundred fans would queue to see them play a 25 minute graveyard slot at the infamous Leadmill. Gigs were intense. She would stand menacingly as he threw himself around the stage, then off the stage and then finally through the drums, often mid-set. Bone fractures and broken skin were commonplace. Unsuspecting crowds would be pounced upon and mosh-pits were lovingly doused in petroleum. Many of Sheffields faces became fans - members of Pulp, All Seeing I and even The Human League were often spotted at gigs...

The couple then moved on - and soon found themselves in Manchester with a wealth of new material and a renewed determination to make a significant mark in musical history. Throughout 2004, the band had earned themselves Punk Rock Single of The Year in Rough Trade Shops, gained crucial respect from the late John Peel and found themselves hitting the airwaves many many times thanks to support from XFMs John Kennedy and BBC Radios Steve Lamacq.

Their astonishing debut, 'Kisses Fractures' album takes the whole concept of REAL D-I-Y rock'n'roll to new levels of importance and unarguably contains enough genuine emotion and breathtaking punk rock elegance to make even the hardest listener shed a tear...

A true hidden treasure on the British underground. The time has come
