The Aleister X story begins in a Kingston studio, in a basement flat in Brooklyn, and in the riots of Brixton.
By 1999 it was time to party like it was, so he took his massive talents and began work on initial recordings. 72 hours later, the “Wicked Wicks” EP was finished. Having already spent a decade watching friends and associates (who will remain nameless) achieve stardom, fame, success, and happiness, Aleister X continued to do so, slogging about in total obscurity, while sinking deeper into the themes of self-loathing, misguidance, paranoia, negative energy, and blatant anti-social networking.
All during this period, he continued devoting his entire being to the core originality he tapped into at birth. Determined to “set the score straight once and for all,” Aleister X, then known simply as, Aleister, decided to “show all those wankers, especially Terry and Malcom, once and for all who is the real great originator who has been ripped-off over and over again by all his so-called mates”, or words to that effect. Along the way, another great originator, Andrew W.K., picked up on what Aleister was putting down, and offered to do some remixes. Then Andrew brought Aleister X (still known as just, Aleister) into sessions he was producing for the original great originator, Lee "Scratch" Perry, resulting in the duet track, “Party Time,” off the 2008, Grammy-Nominated album, “Repentance”. Then, it was time to start writing an album's worth of material that would “really show all those tossers who was the real deal, and really, really set the record straight.” After 15 days in bed, Aleister called Andrew to tell him about the album he wanted to make. After a month in a Kingston studio, Aleister had the new songs he was after. The following year he went back and forth from Andrew’s Skyscraper Music Maker Studio and his own bed, polishing, honing, and crafting his sound... and Aleister X was officially born.
