NYIA was formed in 1999 in Olsztyn, Poland by former members of Vader, Kobong and Prophecy.

The individualistic style of the drummer, Wojtek Szymanski, experiments with heavy sounds and dissonant chords, boasting some of the most intense and diverse slices of blasting avante garde grindcore fusion. The band feature poet and painter Wojtek Szymanski (who wrote all the lyrics and painted the picture used on the cover), producer and sound engineer Szymon Czech (known also from his work with Antigama, Vesania, Yattering, Dies Irae, Third Degree and many others), young and talented vocalist Jakub Leonowicz, bassist Maciej Banaszewski and designer, photographer and director Bartek Rogalewicz (who designed the band`s artwork and shot and directed music videos), who joined NYIA after recording "More Than You Expect".
