Ultre is the music project of Finn McNicholas who is from the North of England.
His live shows have been blasted all over Europe and the UK for the past couple years. You may have seen the live audio visual shows in Kazakhstan with Tim Exile and N>E>D or the home-invented bow and arrow cello being battered and digitally manipulated on the Overkill tour that completed 2006. His solo recorded works are a world unto themselves, using and making electro acoustic instruments like its 1885, creating a sound that ranges from dusty old plinky-plonky ragtime to uncontrollable noise. You may have seen/heard his music/visual work on the animations and films he has worked on with the ICA, MTV, London Sinfionetta, Quayola or Flat-e. The debut Ultre album entitiled "All the darkness has gone to details" was released in December 2006 and has received sweet critical and personal acclaim.
