Starless and Bible Black are a Manchester based band who perform dark and passionate chamber song music that is reminiscent of bands such as Pentangle and Cocteau Twins...... but mixed with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

Fronted by the pure voice of their chanteuse Helene Gautier over the playing of Raz Ullah and Peter Philipson, the band uses guitars, dulcimer, electronics, mandolin, banjo, double bass, laptop, harmonica, drums and an occasional woodwind section to get their beautiful haunting sound. They record and play live either as a stripped down 3 piece or as a full 5 piece band with bass and drums men Paul Blakesley and Brian Edwards adding their rhythmic vibe.

Starless have finished their first album and signed a three album deal with Chicago based label Locust Music. The album will be released in September this year.
