After amazing both public and critics with two seminal albums which managed to combine the violence of Neurosis with the psichedelia of the more visionary Pink Floyd, Ufomammut are back with a new record which open new and in some ways unexpected paths.
Lucifer Songs is in fact the result of a mature and well knit band willing to experiment while mantaining its DNA. The flaming spatial ridings which made "Snailking" one of the records of the year 2004 in many specialized magazines and webzines remain as an indelible brand, but alongside we find a development of a new soundscapes made up of sinister atmospheres and gloomy sounds of vintage electronics.
Ufomammut of 2005 is a powerful wall of sound while at the same time intrinsically dreeming, able to hypnotize and spellbind the listener with obsessive dilatations approching drone music.
The peculiar charm of Ufommamut's sound has more than once gained'em some labelling problems: as the new album has been released, many musical critics defined the band's sound as the start-up of a whole new kind of music, wich mix the doom with the psychedelic, trance music with the more extreme rock, industrial with space rock.
The live act of the band is supported by the video and graphic art of Malleus, a rock artists's collective which takes care of the whole Ufommamut's visual impact.
